A salad, a $1,000 dress, and a thank-you note

This week's Better Together Round-Up is here! Think: one strategy that actually moves the needle, the resources you didn't know you needed, and a few fun favorites we're loving right now. Quick to read, packed with value. You in? đź•’ 3-minute read, unlimited inspiration.

Hey Reader!

November in Ohio is SO cold and dreary. I need all the positivity and sparkly lights I can get to keep me going.

So when my client Paige inspired our Co-Op to take on a monthly gratitude challenge this week, I was in. The goal is simple: see the beauty and the good around you.

Which, I don't know about you, feels VERY necessary right now.

Here's what I noticed this week.

My neighbor made me a salad. I was complaining at the bus stop (as one does) that I love salads at lunch and hate making them. She brought me the whole thing. Homemade dressing. All the toppings. When was the last time you did something like that?

Another mom saved me 2+ hours. The girls have a big competition this weekend, and if you're into Irish dance, you know the dresses are a thing. Like $1,000+ things. Theirs had to be altered in another city, and another mom brought them back for me.

I got a thank-you note.

We have a rule in our house: you write your own thank-you notes. For everything. Birthdays, Christmas, every single time. There has been eye-rolling. (They're teenagers. It comes with the territory.) I hold the line anyway.

A handwritten note is one of the few things left that can't be faked or automated. Someone had to stop. Find a card. Remember what you did. Sit down and write it out by hand. You can't get that from a text.

I do the same thing in my business. Clients, guests, the people who open doors for me. It's the most underrated relationship move in business. Mostly, I just want people to know they mattered.

This week the note came to me, for speaking to a community. I read it twice. It's a funny feeling to be on the receiving end of the thing you've been preaching to your kids for years. A good funny.

And as I write this, the blue wave has taken over. I won't lie, it's a nice reminder that humanity can do good things. đź’›

Here's my point. Sometimes we get so busy and so frustrated in our businesses that we stop seeing the little good things around us. So this week I made sure to take note. I plan to keep doing it the rest of the month.

We do this in the Co-Op every week. We celebrate wins. Not just business wins. Wins with real humans. Getting your kids to dance class on time while still sending the email. Picking a launch date. Following through on the follow-up.

Those little things never make the Instagram grid, and they're the ones I want to celebrate.

We've been lucky enough to welcome 2 new members so far, and only 2 spots remain (because so many alumni have continued on!). Those are real numbers, not made-up ones. I work with every Co-Op member 1:1 all year, so my capacity is limited.

If you want a room that celebrates the dance-class wins right alongside the launch dates, take a look at the Collective Co-Op. Applications close November 25.

XO,
Holly

P.S. Your turn. Hit reply and tell me one good thing you noticed this week. I read every one, and I could use the extra sparkle. (Still raining here!)

Your Weekly Anti-Social™ Shift

Count the quiet wins.

If revenue is the only thing you track, every week looks like a gap. Try this instead. Every Friday before you close the laptop, write down three wins: one business, one human, one tiny. "Sent the email." "Made the bus." "Finally answered that client." A month from now you'll have a running list of momentum you would have forgotten, and a much clearer read on what's actually working when you sit down to plan.

Worth Clicking

A few things I'm clicking, buying, and loving this week.

  • Can we celebrate ALL the launches, not just the $1M ones? This post is for every launch, big and small. And to our new Co-Op members: I see you, and I'm so excited to work with you!
  • Elle Drouin grew her Styled Stock Society membership without live launches, and her Membership Growth Toolkit shows you exactly how. I'm in there too, sharing the #1 way I've grown the Club (and it's not what you think).
  • If you've been wanting to use Claude skills but don't know where to start, Kate's Claude skills bundle gives you the actual skills plus how to set them up. I even gifted my CMO skill to it. She's our weekly marketing gal who reviews everything for us and tells us what's working, what's not, and what to do next.
  • The holiday decor I'm SO excited about this year? This rug. It's subtle, and I don't think Poppy can eat it.
  • Currently reading this series. Besides Twilight and Harry Potter, it's the only series I've ever finished in my life. IYKYK.

Some of the links I share may be affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you, if you decide to make a purchase. I only ever recommend tools and resources I truly love and use myself. Think of it as a little thank-you for supporting what we do around here. 🫶

CRUSH THE RUSH™ PODCAST · EPISODE 650 Hey Reader, The first time I heard Jereshia Hawk's story, I had to put my phone down for a minute. Then I picked it back up and listened again. She built a business that made a million dollars in profit (as in take-home pay) in a single year. And then she chose to make it smaller. On purpose. That part stuck with me. Because I know the voice she walked away from. It's the one that says there's always more. There's always a next step. I call myself an...
