I built a 7-figure business with fewer than 5,000 emails. Here's exactly how.

Creating Life First Business Strategy

for Entrepreneurs

This week’s Better Together Round-Up is here! Think: one game-changing strategy, the resources you didn’t know you needed, and a few fun favorites we’re loving right now. Quick to read, packed with value—you in? 🕒 3-minute read, unlimited inspiration.

Hey Reader,

I deleted 1,200 people from my email list on purpose this month.

Not a glitch. Not an accident. A decision.

I want people on this list who are in it. The ones who open, who engage, who want to go deeper into strategy and what really happens behind the scenes. So I cleaned house. Down to 3,500 active subscribers.

Then we added 1,500 new people in the last few weeks alone.

No viral moment. No posting every day. Here's exactly what moved the needle.

Podcast strategy. Episodes that point to a freebie that flows into our product suite. The content works while I'm on a plane to Tennessee.

Aligned partnerships. The Podcasting Moms Conference I'm at this weekend? The two women running it are former Co-Op Mastermind members. We stayed in touch over the years. We show up for each other. When they built this conference, it made sense to be there. That's what aligned looks like. Not every collab. Not every invite. The ones where you already know the person, and it just makes sense.

Guest speaking. Two communities, one live event. I teach, I earn trust, people join the list. Simple as that.

Customized content. We don't copy and paste to 17 platforms. We use our Anti-Social systems (BHTS) to create content specific to each channel. YouTube Shorts and SEO are doing the heaviest lifting right now.

Running ads — finally. Until this month, every single person on our list found us on their own. No ads. Just the work. This month I hired an expert and we're running ads directly to our podcast playlists. People hear my voice, they get on our list. That's the funnel.

And this week we launched a free quiz. Take it and find out where you are right now: What's Your Client Attraction Strategy?

The most common result so far? Plateau Pusher. You know what to do. You're doing it. It's just not quite getting you where you want to go yet. Sound familiar?

If you want to go deeper on this strategy, these two episodes are worth saving:

Episode 609: Partnerships That Actually Work — how I vet, pitch, and show up in aligned collaborations that grow your list without selling your soul. Listen here

Episode 364: My Handraiser Email Strategy That Doubled Our Revenue — the exact email I send to find the buyers on my list before I ever open cart. Listen here

I am super proud of our small but mighty little business. The one the has 60% open rates on most emails, fuels our family visions and allows me to take work trips with friends.

You don’t need huge numbers to make a big impact. 💛

XO,
Holly

P.S. We're opening Co-Op spots for the second half of the year. If you're ready to stop guessing and build the system that actually gets you there, reply "CO-OP" and I'll send you the application.

✨Your Weekly Strategy Shift

Do this one thing this week: Send a handraiser email.

Before your next launch, email your list one question:

"Are you open to hearing more about [your offer]?" That's it.

The people who say yes are your buyers. The people who don't respond tell you something, too. You stop guessing. You stop pitching the same thing to everyone. You start selling to people who are already leaning in. One email. Real data. It works.

✨Community Corner

Here’s what I’m clicking, testing, and loving this week.

  • The Sustainable CEO Summit deserves your attention. Women building real businesses without the burnout. Grab your spot.
  • Where I'm learning AI right now: Her AI Club. The best community I've found for making AI actually work in your business without the overwhelm.
  • My spring and summer travel hack for jet lag: this one. Quarterly travel is non-negotiable around here and this has been a game-changer.
  • Justin Bieber used a YouTube-style format on the Coachella stage and the internet lost its mind. The content strategy angle is worth the read. Check it out.

Some of the links I share may be affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission—at no extra cost to you—if you decide to make a purchase. I only ever recommend tools and resources I truly love and use myself. Think of it as a little thank-you for supporting what we do around here. 🫶

Life First Business Strategy for Entrepreneurs Hey Reader, We are adding over 20 new subscribers to our email list every single week. No ads. No new content. No social media post driving traffic. Just our website. Working quietly in the background while I do everything else. Now I know what you are thinking. Twenty subscribers a week does not sound like a lot. And you are right, it is not a viral moment. It is not a launch spike. It is not a number that breaks the internet. But here is what...
