I fell into the private jet trap ✈️

Creating Life First Business Strategy

for Entrepreneurs

This week’s Better Together Round-Up is here! This week: the real needle mover, a Tennessee town I can't stop thinking about, and the #1 move I'd make if I were starting over. 🕒 3-minute read, unlimited inspiration.

Hi Reader,

I fell into the private jet trap.

A little context.

I've been in a lot of rooms lately (virtual and in-person). Following my Anti-Social School™ networking plan and sprinting a bit before summer, where I plan to take a lot of time off. More on that later.

But I found myself in rooms with women who got there via private jet. Who had an assistant to carry their LV bag.

Don't get me wrong, I love the bag. But do you really need someone to carry it for you? (I'm sure she had another job too, but you get the picture.)

And I kept thinking…

Gosh, I should be further ahead. Do I need this? I need to build this. I need to hire this person.

And then I stopped myself in my tracks.

Because a few days after I got home, I took the girls to their dance competition for the weekend.

I call it "the bubble." Because you really can't do anything else while you're there. Costume changes. Scores. Different stages. Lots of dancers. We work as a team.

What stopped me in my tracks was this:

This is what I needed.

The ability to be present for the entire weekend and not worry about catching up on work.

The ability to pay myself. If you saw my stories, our fridge broke, and our roof needed to be replaced in the same week. 😳. That payment is important.

The ability to hang out with friends, travel, do dance comps, shut the laptop.

My trips aren't fueled by a private jet. And my bag is from Amazon. But I needed the reminder.

Here's what I keep noticing.

So many of the business owners I used to follow are now "scaling back" to live the life they always wanted. Make sourdough. Take their kids to school. Plant a garden.

But they already made their millions.

Building a life-first business now versus after you build the engine is very different.

That's what I'm passionate about teaching. How to run a business, make it to dance class on time, and shut the laptop by 3pm.

The private jets are nice, maybe one day...But for our current phase of life the dance bubble is the whole point.

XO,
Holly

P.S. Watching the girls compete this weekend reminded me: the dancers who win aren't the ones who rehearse the most. They're the ones who built the routine, then trusted it and followed it consistently. Same goes for your business. 💛

✨Your Weekly Strategy Shift

Fall launches don't happen in the fall. They happen now.

What do you need to make this summer work AND set up a strong fall launch

That's the question I keep asking the women in my Co-Op mastermind. If you wait until September to plan your fall, you'll spend the season scrambling instead of selling.

We're opening summer spots in our highest-level program for exactly this. Build the engine now. Run it lean through summer. Launch in fall without losing your July.

If that's where your head is, hit reply with SUMMER and I'll send the details.
