What if the thing holding you back… was working?

This week’s Better Together Round-Up is here! Think: one game-changing strategy, the resources you didn’t know you needed, and a few fun favorites we’re loving right now. Quick to read, packed with value—you in? 🕒 3-minute read, unlimited inspiration.
Hey Reader,
We had a big milestone this week: my girls started 6th grade. New school, new teachers, and for the first time since kindergarten… separate classes.
They only have two classes together now, and I was bracing myself for the drama. But when Katherine got off the bus and I asked her how her day was, she looked at me and said: “It was amazing. Savannah was holding me back.” 😳
Immediately our faces went OMG, but she meant it in the most loving way. She missed her sister and hugged her at lunch, but she had the best day. Made new friends. Felt free to be herself.
And it hit me.
Sometimes, the thing we’ve been doing for a long time—even if it’s good, even if it works—might be the very thing holding us back from the next level.
This week I chopped my hair. Because, yes, I’ve been wanting to. But also? Perimenopause is a B, and my hair needed a fresh start. 🙃
We’re also reworking our Co-Op Program for 2026 (yes, that far out), and I finally hired someone to help me think bigger. Was I holding myself back? TBD. But the second I made the hire, I felt that familiar wave of possibility.
Oh—and the sunflower garden we planted this spring? Blooming like crazy. We have bouquets in every room. I used to be the person who couldn’t keep a plant alive. Now? It’s like this little metaphor for what happens when you give things time, attention, and room to grow.
This Week’s Anti-Social™ Shift: Sometimes, “working” is not the same as “working for you.
One of our A.S.S.™ students (still laughing at this acronym, sorry, not sorry) is about to be on The Today Show. The TODAY SHOW!!! Like holy moly. But here's the fun fact. It's not because she pitched. Not because she's creating 1,000 pieces of content. (Although she did use our bot Clara to create the content she is sharing!) 😉
Because her content was so undeniably good, they found her. And gosh, has she been consistent.
She wasn’t spinning her wheels trying to do all the things. She focused, simplified, and created from a place of clarity. The message?
Be so good they have to say yes.

Write down your answers. Take one brave, tiny step toward the version of you that’s not holding herself back.
