This week’s Better Together Round-Up is here! Think: one game-changing strategy, the resources you didn’t know you needed, and a few fun favorites we’re loving right now. Quick to read, packed with value—you in? 🕒 3-minute read, unlimited inspiration.

Hi Reader,

Because I don't really have an Instagram or social media plan (except to re-share our podcast every week), when we travel I just share our trip for fun.

I get a lot of questions about it. And honestly, it's kind of like an archive for me. A way to remember that we actually stuck to our family goal. Travel once a quarter.

But here's what you didn't see on Instagram.

On our way between Zion and Las Vegas (which, if you haven't made the drive, is kind of the middle of nowhere), my daughter Savannah had what we think was a mild seizure.

I'll give you the short version. But when you have no idea where you are and your daughter is drooling, can't speak, and her hands are tightening up... it is pretty scary.

We stopped at a gas station (mildly scary itself) to ask for directions to an ER. That landed us at an urgent care (less scary), still in the middle of nowhere. Which then landed us in the ER for 6 hours in Las Vegas.

We've been home for a week. And I think as a mom I have some serious PTSD.

We don't know what caused it. Maybe altitude. Maybe an acute migraine. Maybe dehydration. Maybe everything. But what I can tell you — aside from the fact that it's going to take us all a minute to recover — is that it restored my faith in humanity.

We travel a lot. And we've been lucky that this hasn't happened before. But everyone was so kind. And I just hadn't seen that in a while.

What struck me the most was the service at Sunrise Children's in Vegas. And while it can be a scary place to find yourself, we felt safe. They fed us. They had a therapist check in who specialized in child anxiety in a hospital setting. They took care of both Katherine and Savannah (when your twin is sick, it's a whole thing). The customer experience was just A+. Followed by a follow-up, a survey, all the things you'd expect — but in the most friendly, genuine way.

My Instagram is the highlights. But I want this newsletter to be the BHS.

I felt so grateful coming home knowing we were safe. I didn't think about business once. And in a weird way, while I would rather have never experienced that, I was reminded not to take things for granted.

Kindness matters. You never know someone else's story.

So after a long winter, we wrapped up our Q1 trip with some really good memories and some lessons I didn't plan on learning.

✨Your Weekly Strategy Shift

Before you travel, do this one thing.

When I was sitting in that ER, my business kept running. Not because I'm superhuman. Because before we left, I sat down and mapped out exactly what I wanted to share that month, why I wanted to share it, and what content would support it. Then I scheduled it.

Here's what that actually looks like: open a blank document. Ask yourself what you want your audience to know this month. What's the outcome you're going for? What one piece of content (email, podcast, blog) would move them there? Block two hours, get it done, and schedule it before life gets in the way.

A plan for what you already have beats more content every time.

If you want a head start, our monthly content planner is inside the CEO Week Starter Kit, including 2 GPT’s to help you plan. Grab it and map your next month before the week is over.
