Better Together|| No. 56 - When the world feels heavy, we focus on what matters 🩷

This week’s Better Together Round-Up is here! Think: one game-changing strategy, the resources you didn’t know you needed, and a few fun favorites we’re loving right now. Quick to read, packed with value—you in? 🕒 3-minute read, unlimited inspiration.

Hey Reader,
If I am being honest, it’s been hard to focus this week. We have family and friends in Texas (my stepdaughter lives in Austin), and the floods in Texas have been devastating —families just like ours, girls my daughters’ age. One minute we’re making popsicles and planning vacations… and the next, we’re grieving for lives lost and homes swept away. It feels weird to write emails...to do "normal" activities.

So I just had to pause for a minute and say, if you're feeling heavy, you're not alone. If you’re looking for a way to help, this post shares vetted places to donate directly.

And in the midst of all this, I’ve been sitting with the question: How do we keep going when the world feels so overwhelming? Which seems to be happening a lot in 2025. 🤪

The answer, for me, is focus—not the hustle kind, but the grounded kind. The kind that reminds us why we do what we do.

The Anti-Social™ Shift: Focus is a feeling, not a checklist.

This whole month, I cleared my calendar completely.
Limited meetings. No new calls. Just breathing room.

So far, that space has led to some good things:

  • I built a new bot (her name is Betty the Blogger 👋), coming soon to help you turn blogs into carousel posts—hello, repurposing made easy.
  • I wrote and recorded August podcast episodes (complete with a fresh new look and lineup).
  • I made candles and spent time with my girls. Swam. Planned for our upcoming 10 days out of office in Maui (jet lag prep already in progress). 😅

It reminded me that momentum doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like quiet, steady progress.

And if you're craving that kind of focus too, here are 5 grounding questions to help realign your work this month:

  1. What offer are you focused on for the next 30–60 days?
  2. What’s one problem your audience has right now that you can help solve?
  3. What’s a content format that feels easy and fun for you right now?
  4. Do you know what day you’re selling this week—and how?
  5. What would you post if content felt light and aligned again?

Print ’em. Journal through them. Share them with a biz friend.
Let’s rebuild our focus from a place of intention, not urgency.

Strategy Snapshot: Quiet Wins = Big Momentum

I always say small steps build big businesses—and this week was proof:

  • We welcomed 500 new subscribers in 14 days thanks to a few well-placed collabs and our Anti-Social School™ strategy doing its thing behind the scenes.
  • I got to share our story on Gemma Bonham-Carter’s podcast—a full-circle moment and a beautiful reminder of what’s possible with space and strategy.
  • And I just got my brand photos back. They feel like “me” in the best way. I can’t wait to show you. 🩷 Momentum can be fun!

These aren’t flashy headline wins—but they’re deeply meaningful.
They’re the kind that add up. The kind that keep you rooted.

One last note before I head out...

Our Friday newsletter is going on a short summer pause. 🌺

Between Holly-Days starting Monday and our family trip to Maui, I’m leaning into the whitespace and letting things breathe a bit.

But don’t worry—the inbox is still where the party’s at. You’ll hear from me with Holly-Days bonuses and vacation surprises while I’m out. 🎉

And we’ll be back in your Friday inbox in August, refreshed and ready.

Until then—Give yourself grace. And celebrate every quiet win along the way.

XO,
Holly
