I bragged about my email strategy. Then this happened

Hi Reader,

I'm back.

Two weeks. No Friday email. And honestly? It felt weird, but also completely necessary.

Here's what's been happening on my end.

We just wrapped our spring Anti-Social School™ launch. And I have a lot to tell you.

First, I had Covid.

Yes. Let's go back to 2020 for a second. 🤦‍♀️

If you showed up to any of our live calls and thought I sounded a little off? I wasn't just "a little under the weather." I was sweating through my clothes with a 102 fever kind of sick. Real talk.

And here's the thing: the launch kept going. The emails went out. The calls happened. The systems held.

Mostly.

Because somewhere in the middle of all of it, I accidentally sent our launch emails to our entire list.

Yes. The same week, I had just finished bragging, in this very newsletter, about our segmentation strategy. 🙃

Just me? Cool, cool, cool.

Moving on.

And here's the other honest part.

I got in my head. A lot.

Launches are loud right now. My feed was full of "$100K in one day" screenshots. "$1M in a minute" announcements. And somewhere between the fever and the noise, I started comparing.

I'd call it a 6 out of 10 launch. Not our best. Not our worst.

But here's what I had to remind myself: the flashiest launches are not the healthiest businesses. The most viral moments are not the most sustainable models.

So let me tell you what we actually have.

The best students. 🤩 A healthy profit margin. Eight months of operating expenses already in the bank. And me, still working 20ish hours a week.

Not a screenshot-worthy number. But a life I chose on purpose.

I am grateful for students who get results that change their families. I am grateful for a business that kept running while I was sick on the couch. I am grateful for a launch plan built weeks in advance, not the night before. I am grateful for a program (Anti-Social School™) I am obsessed with. Genuinely obsessed.

This launch was also the final chapter of our beta round of Anti-Social School™, the version where we tested everything. How to get you the best results. How to structure community so you get real support no matter when you join.

And we learned so, so much.

So much that Anti-Social School™: The “next level” is already built and coming this summer. 👀. Don't worry, all current students get the new version too! 😉

But right now? We're still recovering over here.

And the most important reminder this launch gave me:

Turn off the noise. Stay on your path. Put the blinders on. Your goals are not their goals. Your business is not their business.

Missed the launch? Here's your best next step, no launch required. 👇

✨Your Weekly Strategy Shift

The healthiest businesses aren't the flashiest ones.

Stop measuring your revenue against someone else's month. That number doesn't tell you anything useful.

The metrics that actually matter: healthy profit margins, money in the bank, time with your family, work that lives inside your life instead of running it.

Grab a piece of paper and write down your three metrics. Not someone else's. Yours. Profit margin, time blocked for family, money sitting in savings. Whatever freedom looks like for you, name it. Put that paper somewhere you'll actually see it when it gets noisy out there.

The goal was never to be the loudest one in the room. It was always to have the most freedom.
