Creating Life First Business Strategy for Entrepreneurs
Think: one game-changing strategy, the resources you didn't know you needed, and a few fun favorites we're loving right now. Quick to read, packed with value, you in? 🕒 3-minute read, unlimited inspiration.

Hi Reader,

Want to know a secret about the email you're reading right now?

It's been going out, in some shape or form, since 2020.

Some weeks it had a logo. Some weeks it very much did not. The name changed. The colors changed. I redesigned it, then redesigned it again, then left it alone for a while.

But the bones? Basically the same the whole time.

Because this was never about the design. It's the connection piece of my week. The one spot where I get to talk to you like we are having coffee and sharing what is happening in life as a business owner.

Six years of Fridays. That's a little wild to type out.

And here's the fun part. Newsletters are having a full-on moment again. Everybody's starting one. The inbox is getting loud.

I love it.

Because a crowded inbox can copy a lot of things. Your layout. Your subject lines. Your send time. Your sign-off.

It cannot copy you.

Your personality is the one thing without a template. It's the reason someone opens your email on a Friday and lets the other fifteen sit there unread.

That's the whole game. Not louder. Not fancier. Just more you.

So since it's the 3rd of July and you're about to close the laptop for a long weekend of grilling, pool games and questionable fireworks, here's something fun to file away for Monday.

Three easy ways to make your newsletter unmistakably yours.

✨ 3 Ways to Make Your Newsletter Yours

1. Borrow from someone who did it big. This week's podcast guest is Sam Vander Wielen, who built an $8M business and a 70,000-person email list largely on the back of her newsletter. The whole conversation is right here.

2. Get the exact formula. There's an episode inside the Anti-Social Shift, my free private podcast, that walks through our entire email newsletter formula. What to send, how to send it, all of it. You can start listening anytime.

3. Steal the framework behind this very email. The 4C Newsletter Framework is the structure under every newsletter I have ever sent, including this one. I broke the whole thing down on the blog.

Happy almost-4th. I'm logging off for the long weekend, but the emails, the search traffic, and the Bot Squad are all still clocked in. A business that keeps working while you're at the pool. That is the freedom I am always talking about.

XO,
Holly

P.S. Something fun is landing this month. Holly Days is almost here, and this year it comes with something new for Anti-Social School™. Keep an eye on your inbox July 13th - 17th. 💛

✨Your Weekly Strategy Shift

Sent Beats Perfect

Here's what six years of Fridays taught me: the newsletters that built this business were never the pretty ones.

Some had a logo. Some looked like I wrote them in a parking lot, because sometimes I did. The ones that mattered were simply the ones I actually sent.

Consistency is the brand. Polish is the bonus.

So this week, don't redesign your template. Just hit send.

A few things I'm loving, sharing, and clicking this week:

  • It is still 90 degrees here, but I could not help myself. These were such a cute idea for the 4th.
  • Currently watching and fully sucked in. Finding Her Edge is a soapy figure skating drama on Netflix, and a very good excuse to do nothing on a hot afternoon.
  • Speaking of newsletters, obsessed with Kit’s new analytics and MCP connector. Analyze your data and then have Claude make the updates.
  • The free resource I keep handing to anyone who wants to start a newsletter? The Anti-Social Shift. Nine short episodes, zero fluff.
  • The most popular mini-resource we created in 6 years. Run it while you watch the fireworks. It really does attract clients while you sleep. 😉
  • The best part of my whole week, hands down. This girl. Grateful for a low-key schedule this month and a whole lot of extra puppy cuddles with Poppy.

Some of the links I share may be affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission—at no extra cost to you—if you decide to make a purchase. I only ever recommend tools and resources I truly love and use myself. Think of it as a little thank-you for supporting what we do around here. 🫶
